Time and change go together like popcorn and movies and the question is: Can we have one without the other?
Anyone who has seen Extreme Home Makeover knows that one and the same space can transform into something completely different. What makes this possible is the passing of time. And in this case of course, lots of friendly neighbours.
If time was capricious and independent it could very well decide to leave change behind and go on without it. How would we know if the world and everything in it suddenly froze? Millions of years could have passed since you started reading this sentence.
There is no simple definition of time. Philosophers still argue on whether it really exists. All we can see is small grains of sand falling from one side of the glass to the other, the sweep-second hand of a clock going round and round. We use change to measure time.

Copywriter David Orlic at Volontaire couldn’t decide which watch to wear this morning so he ended up wearing both! The first one is an Omega Seamaster DeVille and the second one a diving watch with a compass hidden inside from Casio.
This month we’re borrowing a desk (Skrivbordet=Swedish for desk) at Volontaire – a great project to encourage people’s creativity, no matter what field they work or study in. This month Mutewatch has the honour to borrow The Desk! Thanks Volontaire, we’re loving it here!
